Our Ticket Into Heaven

"Windmill, windmill for the land. Turn forever hand in hand..." Hello faithful readers, it's been a long time since we've talked. I took the summer off to recharge my battery so I can be back worse than ever for the upcoming basketball season. You have been warned.

However, since the season is still 2 months away, there really is nothing new to report on this blog. Unless you count box scores of the Flyers crushing a shitty European team that wore wooden clogs, a team that wore 1950's Chuck Taylors, and a team that didn't even have money for shoes.  So we'd like to take this time to pass along some information from a Flyer fan looking for some of your help.

Flying Towards a Cure is night that we fully endorse here at the Blackburn Review. The event takes place on Saturday, September 24 and guess what? It's going to be at the Decibel Dungeon! There will be dinner, a silent auction (Marion's gift certificates! Get on this!), music, and lots o' fun to be had by everyone. All of the proceeds will go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. I think we all can agree that this is for a good cause and it would help a lot of people out. Feel free to donate items to the silent auction. Blackburn informed me that he will put my "job" at this site up for auction to the highest bidder. However, you will have to throw down a lot of cash to win that it. Expect the highest bid to be at least in the low double digits. There will also be other UD themed items up for grabs. Check out the website for more details and I am sure there are some tax breaks and all that mumbo jumbo available. So yeah, help a former Flyer out!

@Harry Baujan: this is the first time I am even seeing it.

Can we just collectively donate Donoher to the cause. We can take all the time he would have spent "writing" for the site this season and put his ass to work instead. I'm sure we can find something he can actually handle like a paper route or making fries or mopping up the lonely tears of fat freshmen.

I always knew Donoher was the only coach with a soul, thanks for the post! If you buy tickets before 9/9, you will be entered in a drawing for a pair of VIP preview night tickets for the Dayton Art Institute Oktoberfest on 9/23. That's basically 2 all you can drink tickets at a $120 value - a prize even Blackburn's failing liver can appreciate! http://www.daytonartinstitute.org/events-activities/oktoberfest

Will the Lowes kid be there? I would like to meet him. I imagine he will behave differently than his posts.
